AI can help but it won't replace.
We are comprehensible input truthers.
We ❤️ AI. But, AI can't do everything. And (our) AI makes mistakes (tell us about it, so we can fix it).
We ❤️ humans most. AI exists to help us. So, we use AI to enable language learners to learn together, or to give you content you can bring to your human tutors.
Immersion matters most.
We are comprehensible input truthers.
Research shows that comprehensible input is the engine that drives language acquisition. This means that you need to receive a sufficient amount of understandable content in your target language.
It's how babies learn. It's why immersion works so well.
Fast is impossible. Fun is mandatory.
No cap, it'll take 1000+ hours to get fluent. You only get to decide how fun it'll be.
The truth is, language learning takes time. There are no shortcuts. There are no magic bullet apps.
If the amount of time needed to get fluent is fixed, the process really matters. We want to be the most fun, flexible, and easy way for you to learn.
Language learning is social.
Languages are for family, friends, lovers, and occasionally enemies.
Language learning is social. The beauty of languages is that we can use them communicate and deeply understand other people.
Language learning should celebrate this - putting us in touch with new friends, not leave us alone in a room with grammar drills.
